It's weird that Nova Developments USA are also selling their own branded version (as 'Pro') on Amazon, though Wiki points out this is identical to X3. The gospel according to Wikipedia says that 13 and X3 are the same. I know that Corel took Ulead over around 2008, and some time after it was announced that development on PhotoImpact would stop and PSP would be the core application (2009).
When I started with it at least as early as 2001 (though I originally got into it through an 'SE' giveaway with another application) it was owned by Ulead.
I didn't realise PhotoImpact was still available - although Corel only says it works up to XP/Vista so I guess I, along with everyone else, was lucky to have it survive W7's whole lifetime and a year of W10 into the bargain. There are some very early changes that may never see the light of day, and some which are release candidates (RCs) and are theoretically soon to be released in normal Windows updates to typical users. My comment was more to do with those about it working with W10, not the OP. I don't know, Brian - the 'insider' doesn't know what has changed in the guts of the OS, just what he sees on the outside.
